  • Be sure the space is perfect. Your dance floor should be just large enough to ensure your guests have plenty of space to dance their hearts out at your reception. However, do make sure the space is not too large, as this can make the dance floor feel less crowded and less inviting.
  • Play with your lighting. Wedding lighting is very important, as it can create just the right ambiance for specific moments of the wedding. When dinner is over and guests have already gotten accustomed with the space and with the “vibes”, dim the lights a little – it will be like an invitation to the dance floor!
  • Start the party. Because you are the host of your Big Day, you will have to be a leader – so be genuinely present on the dance floor and have a good time. People will follow in your lead and join you to the party.
  • Time your music the right way. Playing dance music as soon as the guests enter the reception may not be a good idea – it is more than likely that most of them are not yet ready to dance. Instead, gradually building up the energy through music can have a great effect on your guests, making them actually want to dance.
